This magnificent house is situated opposite in the quaint village of Sainte Colombe sur l'Hers on the border of the Aude and Ariege. The local supermarket and bar/restaurant are within easy walking distance and the larger town of Chalabre is just 5 minutes away. The surrounding area is very popular with walkers and cyclists and for swimmers, sailors and fishermen the glorious 600-hectare lake at Montbel is just a 4-minute drive. The popular towns of Mirepoix and Limoux are within a 30-minute drive and both Toulouse and the beaches of the Mediterranean within an hour and a half making this an ideal family location. Sainte Colombe sur l'Hers is just 37km east from the market town of Foix and 56 km south of the historic city of Carcassonne. The winter carnival town of Limoux, also famous for its blanquette and the medieval town of Mirepoix are within half an hours drive, as is skiing at Mts d'Olmes. The towns of Mirepoix and Limoux offer lively evenings of entertainment and large weekly markets. The nearby Cathar castles of Queribus, Chalabre, Puivert and Montsegur can easily be explored and the coastline from Narbonne to the northern Spanish border offers a wealth of beaches to discover and enjoy.

Sainte Colombe sur l’Hers is a small quiet village near Puivert and Chalabre. Located within the village is a bar/restaurant, local shop, hairdressers and public park.

Lake at Montbel is set in idyllic surroundings and is just a 4 minute drive away! You can sit and relax on the beach and take advantage of their lovely restaurant or you can take part in some of the many activities available:

The lake offers evening entertainment during the summer months and is a great place for families.


Quillan
A lovely town with the Aude running through it. You can sit back and relax at the Palace with a coffee or a beer and watch the day go by. During the week they have fantastic day and evening markets. You can also pop up to the chateau and get a fantastic view of the entire town.


Mirepoix
Is a fantastic medieval town which has so much to offer. There are many restaurants and shops and is steeped in fantastic architecture.


Puivert
Is a lovely man made lake with a beach that is great for swimming in during the summer. Surrounded by lush countryside, it is the perfect place to kick back and relax. Take advantage of the lakeside restaurant and their fantastic steaks!

All prices quoted are inclusive of a continental breakfast (croissants, bread, cheese, yoghurts, cereals, fruit juice and tea or coffee). A full English breakfast is available on request for a small charge.

We offer 5 rooms. Two have ensuite bathrooms and the remaining rooms have two shared bathrooms between them.

Twin Room with ensuite – 65 euros/night

Single Occupancy room – 45 euros/night

Two of our rooms can be made into family rooms by the interconnecting doors. You have the choice of either a double bed or twin beds

Family Rooms – 85 euros/night

There is washing and drying facilitites for a nominal charge.

Added Extras

We have a range of ‘added extras’ that you can take advantage of for a small charge:

3 course dinner with wine – 22 euros/adult 11 euros/child (up to age 10)

Packed Lunch (consists of a sandwich/quiche, a drink of your choice and some fruit) – 10 euros/head (children 5 euros/head)

Picnic Hamper (a feast of a hamper with a lovely cold picnic meal – can arrange an alternative for vegetarians – as well as a bottle of wine. Great for taking out for the day.

We also have a TV/DVD combi system that we let you use for a small charge. Always good if you want the kids to stay in bed whilst you carry on downstairs.


Airport collection & drop off is available for a reasonable fee. Pre booking is essential.

We also offer a drop off and collection for those who want to go a bit further a field for the day i.e. Cycle routs, walking route or just for visits to neighbouring towns (Mirepoix, Foix, Puivert)
